Here at the Orchard we extract honey from our 'super' frames by cutting away the 'cappings' with hot blades. Each honeycomb is covered with beeswax to seal the chamber...the exposed honeycomb is now ready to be put into the extractor; the cappings are collected and put into a melter....the wax will eventually harden. To be used in candlemaking the wax must be melted and filtered before being poured into the mold. We sell our finished product to you hoping you will appreciate the care that goes into each of our candles.
